Five years after being drafted 36th overall by the Mariners, Garciaparra
resembled a prospect for the first time in 2006, though he still looks like a
utilityman at best. Nomar's younger brother posted a .399 OBP in his 257
minor league at-bats. The power hasn't come yet, but he has worked to add the
strength he'll need if he's going to have a shot. It will probably come down
to versatility. Garciaparra was used mostly at second base last season and
the only other position he played was shortstop, his former home. He won't
hit enough to be a regular, so he'll probably need to work in the outfield
and prove he can handle center if he's going to have a career.
能在三A跟AFL交出4成以上的上壘率已經值得給個機會了
