Re: [新聞] 一朗挺松坂 低潮無關經典賽

Red Sox journal: Ichiro scoffs at notion that Matsuzaka's struggles
stem from WBC
這是標題
中間略
"If you think that's the reason he's struggling right now,
if people are blaming the WBC, that's not very smart,"
Suzuki told The Boston Herald. "People who are saying that are using it
for a reason just to have a reason.
They're not really thinking it through. I believe he thinks
it's not due to the WBC, too. People who say that are just grasping
for a reason."
Suzuki was also directly critical of Red Sox management,
including Terry Francona,
for implying that Matsuzaka's WBC play had hurt Boston's pitching staff.

這是我用美國雅虎 搜尋Ichiro和Matsuzaka 看到的第一則新聞

Ichiro Suzuki backs Daisuke Matsuzaka, WBC
By John Tomase / All-Star notebook
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - Updated 19h ago
ST. LOUIS - Ichiro Suzuki wishes he knew exactly what ailed countryman
Daisuke Matsuzaka [stats]. But of this much he’s certain:
The World Baseball Classic is not to blame.
The Mariners superstar outfielder passionately defended his Japanese
teammate before last night’s All-Star Game,
expressing confidence that Matsuzaka will regain his form.
“This might be the toughest time he’s ever had to deal with,
but he has always overcome them in the past,” Suzuki said
through a translator. “He has the mental ability to conquer this
and take the next step.
He’s very tough on himself, but that’s part of the reason
why I think he’ll definitely work through this.”
What Suzuki doesn’t want to hear is anyone say the WBC triggered
the chain of events that last month led to Matsuzaka being shelved,
possibly for the season.
“If you think that’s the reason he’s struggling right now,
if people are blaming the WBC, that’s not very smart,”
Suzuki said. “People who are saying that are using it for a reason
just to have a reason. They’re not really thinking it through.
I believe he thinks it’s not due to the WBC, too.
People who say that are just grasping for a reason.”
Suzuki included the Red Sox [team stats] in that group.
The club made no secret of its unhappiness about the impact the WBC
had on Matsuzaka, with manager Terry Francona ruefully noting that “
now we’re down a pitcher,” after Matsuzaka went on the DL last month.
“Then he’s looking for the easy reason, too,” Suzuki said of Francona.
“Just like everybody else.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suzuki was asked how much Matsuzaka gave en route to being named
tournament MVP.
“Everything,” he said. “He gave everything he had. We all did, everyone
on that Japan team. That’s why we could win.”
As Suzuki spoke, his voice occasionally rising, his translator
scribbled furiously in his notebook. The Matsuzaka line of questioning
struck a nerve.
That said, Ichiro himself doesn’t know why Matsuzaka is struggling.
“I’m not his teammate. There’s no way I can know,” he said. “
It’s especially hard because it’s not an injury.
If there’s an injury, you accept it because there’s nothing
you can do about it. The reason it’s such a struggle is
because we don’t know what the reason is.
It’s a struggle because the reason lies somewhere you can’t see.
That’s why it’s so hard.”
