Re: [討論] 6/2 今日維尼
I was thinking during my previous outing that
if I'm going to give up all those walks,
I'm better off just trying to let them hit it," Matsuzaka said
through interpreter Masa Hoshino.
"Considering what happened in my last outing,
yes, I wanted to be more aggressive about throwing strikes."
At one point tonight, he was 81 percent strikes, which is clearly
the highest percentage he's thrown at any point he's been with us,"
said Red Sox pitching coach John Farrell.
"Hopefully he's proven to himself that when he does pitch to contact early
in the count, he might give up a few more hits than otherwise,
but the total number of baserunners and the ability to use the defense
behind him gives him a chance to be more efficient.
"There were a couple of 0-2 base hits mixed in there
that I'm sure he would like to have back.
But he pitched with a lot of confidence,
a lot of conviction with every pitch that he threw."
"At the beginning of the game -- and I hate to say this -
there were almost too many strikes," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona.
"He worked ahead, and he got hurt. He was ahead in the count to Kurt Suzuki.
But if that's a problem, we'll take it."
Matsuzaka said he did draw on Tuesday's game and the way John Lackey
was able to keep the Red Sox in the game despite an inauspicious beginning.
"I can't be satisfied," Matsuzaka said.
"After allowing those three runs in the first inning,
I thought of Lackey last night, and I hoped that I could also battle
and hang in there, and hopefully my teammates would flip the score for me.
Looking back, just that first inning,
and not being able to get through seven full innings,
I can't be satisfied with that.
There's not too much to be satisfied with tonight,
except that we got the win."
We call him the Magic Man out in the bullpen," reliever Daniel Bard
said of Matsuzaka.
"You know it's in there.
It's just a matter of it clicking for him.
Sometimes it happens for him at the beginning of an outing.
Sometimes it takes him an inning to kind of settle in
and find that feeling.
Because when he's on, he's as dominant as anybody.
It's just a matter of getting him there.
If he can get just a little bit of consistency,
and I think he's starting to find it,
I think that makes a huge difference for this team."
