Injured players near return for Miami Heat The Heat could be getting more depth as several players continue to work their way back from injuries. Forward James Jones (wrist) will travel with the team on its upcoming seven- game trip, and he is expected to practice or at least participate in contact drills and some five-on-five work. ''If you just came in and saw all of our noncontact drills you would think he is ready to go right now, which he is except the contact and the strength and the pulling and grabbing,'' Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Saturday. ``We're going to ease him into that as his wrist gets 100 percent healthy.'' Dorell Wright (knee) also continues to improve, Spoelstra said, adding that guard Shaun Livingston's knee will be reevaluated to determine whether he is ready to play in games. Livingston has appeared in four games this season, most recently Dec. 6 against Oklahoma City. Spoelstra said Livingston has not suffered a setback but must continue to strengthen his knee, sustained extensive damage in February 2007. MOURNING UPDATE Center Alonzo Mourning is about three or four weeks away from deciding whether he will return, Spoelstra said. ''He's still been working out every day is doing more running and more basketball-related stuff with our physical therapist,'' Spoelstra said. Mourning had surgery on his right knee to repair the patellar tendon just more than year ago. Mourning is a free agent, and if the Heat signed him it would need to free a spot on its 15-man roster. CHARITY STRIPE? Entering Saturday, the Heat ranked last in the league in free-throw shooting percentage. The Heat has made 73.3 percent from the line, converting 524 of 715.
