Jeremy Lin News: Linsanity Bound to Be Superstar With Boston Celtics

Jeremy Lin's days with Houston Rockets could be numbered as the team prepares
to make some aggressive moves before the Feb 20 trade deadline. According to
the latest rumours, the Rockets are targeting a trade with the Celtics for
All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo.
Reports indicated the Rockets are very much interested to get Rondo by
sending Lin, defensive center Omer Asik and a future first-round pick to the
Celtics.
The Rockets could prepare a package consisting of point guard Jeremy Lin,
center Omer Asik and a first-round pick for the Celtics in exchange for Rondo
before the trade deadline, according to Yahoo Sports.
Rondo is just coming off almost year-long knee rehabilitation after he
suffered a torn ACL injury in 2013. Rondo is averaging 7 points, 4 rebounds
and 4 assists in 21 minutes of action, but his numbers are expected to take
off once he was cleared to play more minutes on the floor.
The Rockets, on the other hand, are desperate to add another piece to their
championship puzzle, and they believed the All-Star guard perfectly fits
their system. Already boasting Dwight Howard, Chandler Parsons, James Harden
and budding Terrence Jones, the Rockets front office believe Rondo's
pass-first approach will help the team fulfill its NBA title aspirations.
In the latest article by Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News, he
indicated that more than few general managers believe Rondo will be moved
before the midseason trade deadline.
"Rajon Rondo is finally back for the Celtics, and now the question becomes
how long will he stay in Boston." Lawrence stated in his latest article.
"Rondo is the last blue chip from the 2008 championship team and 2010 Finals
team that Celtics president Danny Ainge can convert into assets as he
rebuilds the franchise. More than a few GMs around the league expect Rondo to
be on the move, if not at the trading deadline next month, then maybe in June
at draft time," he added
Lin Back at East Coast Home
Lin spent four years of his college basketball years at Harvard University,
where he became one of the most explosive scorers in the Ivy League. As
everybody knows by now, Lin went undrafted in 2010 but took opportunity by
the horn during his tenure with the New York Knicks. Thus, Linsanity was born
at Madison Square Garden.
The former Harvard hotshot is averaging at least 13 points and 4 dimes per
game in a sixth man role for the Rockets. However, Lin proved he can produce
more than his average output, if given a chance to step up in the absence of
James Harden.
Lin is an integral part of the Rockets. However, he also needs a fresh
environment to really show his capability in this league. If the
Rockets-Celtics trade pushes through, Lin will have a brand new environment
with the Celtics, and at the same time play with a team that has less
expectations.
The Taiwanese-American point guard will surely benefit from the Celtics
up-tempo play, and could carve a reputation as a bonafide superstar if given
solid pieces around him.
