The thing that comes along with this is, some other outlets as well as the athletic have reported that the league was looking at a 2nd deal involving Kawhi. And the trade to Toronto was slowed down. The other thing that’s interesting to me is Daktronics didn’t come out with a statement that completely denied this whatsoever. They had a crisis PR man say something like Kawhi is not under contract right now. It was not a full denial. This to me is extraordinarily troubling. The lack of response for days on end. Let me say this situation is not hard to understand. At least the concept. Because what Pablo is laying out is the appearance of a kickback. I can figure out a kickback very easily. I do not have to have FBI training or be an Assistant US Attorney to understand the concept of a kickback.
