Big Baby ended up serving 17 months in prison. Upon his release, Davis claimed he was labeled the fall guy by the NBA, and doubled down on those claims in a recent interview. Davis says the NBA picked him over other retired players mentioned in the investigation, leading him to spend nearly two years in prison in addition to three years of supervision. Big Baby expressed his frustration with the process that led to his imprisonment while others mentioned in the indictment, including his former Boston Celtics teammates Kendrick Perkins and Tony Allen, didn't, he explained, per Locked In with Ian Bick. “They literally wanted to make me out to be an example. There was a lot of people that got investigated,” Davis said. “Kendrick Perkins, you see him on ESPN. Tony Allen—he was literally the third person on the indictment, with his wife. He's not walking in jail. Darius Miles—he's not walking in jail. And these guys got money, like thousands of dollars. How'd I end up in jail and these guys are on probation/walking free; their whole life is still intact. “I think the NBA let the feds pick who they wanted to choose. 180 people were investigated/supenoed. We didn't hear about all those people. We just heard about the 22 people that got caught, or that got jammed in the situation. A lot of people pleaded out. They didn't go to jail. They didn't even go get time served.” Glen ‘Big Baby' Davis, claiming his finances were managed poorly after his NBA career ended following the 2014-15 season, says others took a lot more amid a scheme to defraud the league's health care benefits plan, and received lesser punishments. “They actually stole money. Thousands — hundreds of thousands of dollars. Your favorite podcast, people you see on different podcasts,” Davis added. “ Matt Barnes, Stephen Jack; all those people were investigated. Gilbert Arenas, Corey Maggette, Cutino Mobley; thousands of NBA players were investigated. They just let some of them go to jail. Some of them, the fed got, like, Tony Allen. He didn't go to jail. Whatever he did to get free.” Davis says the arrest has tarnished his name. “You lose relationships that you've been building up for years. Your image is tainted. All the hard work you put in as a role model is now depleted,” Davis added. “You gotta start over, and you have to be a special person to start over, you know what I mean? To look that in the face and be like, oh OK, I'm going to move on and keep going. That's hard to do. That's hard to do when you build yourself up to be this person in the world. But it's something I can do because I'm a special individual.” After winning a championship with Kendrick Perkins, and the Celtics in 2008, Davis played three more seasons in Boston before his trade to the Orlando Magic, and then spent his last two years with the LA Clippers between 2013 and 2015. I didn't know how to do it. I just knew, alright, cool, we got this money. So, let me get my financial advisor and my business manager and see what I can do to get my money back. They all came to me. I didn't know. So, I was like, hey, financial advisor, can you help me? Edgar Abrams. “He's like, “Yeah, I can do this.” He said, “Review it, sign it, send it back.” So now, I'm a part of the plan. Whatever these guys — Terrence Williams — did to convince my guy to do it. Now, I'm in it. I never got any money from the initial, right? They kept investigating me.” Williams was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023. He's scheduled for release in 2030. Anderson received a 24-month prison sentence. “When we go to court, my financial advisor testifies against me, and this doctor, who's been recruiting me from the Big 3, he basically pleads the fifth; doesn't show up to court. We can't ask him no questions,” Davis added. “And I go to jail for $40,000.” Davis played one season in the Big 3, winning a championship with Power in 2018.
