Paul Pierce 認為今年的東區強於西區：
「不管別人怎麼說，東區就是比西區強。兄弟你聽著，我看到東區有 10 支球隊勝率超過五
成，但看看西區，只有 8 支球隊勝率過半。如果你想聊聊東西區頂尖球隊的實力差距，我
不這麼認為，因為健康的活塞隊完全能跟雷霆隊抗衡，健康的塞爾提克隊也能和馬刺隊交手
。至於誰會是第三種子？喔，尼克隊，他們能跟湖人隊打嗎？當然沒問題。」
