November 17, 2009, 9:42 pm And Now, the Encore: Yanks Charting Off-Season Course By TYLER KEPNER General Manager Brian Cashman started assembling his scouts on Tuesday, beginning the annual brainstorming sessions that chart the Yankees’ off-season. Burnett and Mark Teixeira. Unlike last year, though, they do not need to be so aggressive. The free-agent class is much weaker at the top, and many teams are determined not to raise their payrolls.
