Still tbd (3) @GaryHPhillips: Aaron Boone said the Yankees will decide over the next few days if Gerrit Cole’s next outing will be a rehab start. He threw 3 innings/42 pitches yesterday against hitters at Hudson Valley. (4) @GaryHPhillips: Aaron Boone was asked what he's seen from Randal Grichuk so far, with the caveat being that the OF has had erratic playing time. "Erratic playing time," Boone repeated back. "What's he got nine at-bats, 10 at-bats? He's swung through some pitches. He's also smoked the ball up the middle that they made a great play on. He's hit a ball to the wall in center. He's a good hitter. He's had almost no at-bats. He'll be fine." Grichuk, signed by the Yankees midway through spring training, enters tonight's start without a hit or walk over a dozen at-bats/plate appearances. (5) @GaryHPhillips: Lots of baseball left to play, but the Yankees have been more selective than usual in the early going, both with their overall swings & with pitches in the strike zone. However, Aaron Boone doesn't feel they're being too selective "yet." "We're going to always lean on the side of, 'I want us to control the zone.' That's our identity and one of our biggest strengths, and just because you're not getting some results doesn't mean you start hit-chasing. That's when you start expanding and get yourself in trouble. "We're looking for a certain pitch. I want our guys to have a specific plan as a group, but also individually each at-bat. And if you get your pitch, let's get busy with it." (6) @ktsharp: Yankees are 0-6 in games decided by 1 run this season.
