Their one loss came against Triston McKenzie (7 IP, 1 H, 7 K in July). Bieber + McKenzie in Wild Card round vs. TB: 13.2 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 16 K 7.1. @MaxTGoodman: That said, the Guardians scored just three runs (on two home runs) in 23 innings on offense. Can the Yankees' pitching staff replicate what Tampa was able to accomplish? Will New York break through offensively or struggle (especially with RISP) like the Rays did? (8) @MaxTGoodman: Gerrit Cole went 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 15 K in 12.2 IP (2 ER, 2 HR) against the #Guardians this year. (2) @MaxTGoodman: This year is the 40th time in #Yankees franchise history that New York has won 97+ games in the regular season. That's tied with the 2004 A's for the 2nd-most in a season over the last 100 years. The only team with more is 1987 Twins (28). (6) @ktsharp: Yankees finished the season with just 6 losses by 5+ runs. They are the first team to have 6 or fewer losses by 5+ runs in a (non-shortened) season since the 1977 Dodgers.
