同場加眏: (1) @JackCurryYES: There was a vintage Gerrit Cole moment during his 35-pitch live BP session. After a coach barked “up” and called Cole’s first pitch a ball, Cole stopped and asked the catcher, “Did you have that up? Because that was on the plate.” Cole, ever the intense competitor. (2) @JackCurryYES: After Carlos Lagrange finished doing an interview in English, his second language, he took time to thank the news media and shake every reporter's hand. The 22-year old is very comfortable in a major league clubhouse and very comfortable in his own skin. Polite, too. (3) @JackCurryYES: Mentioned this on YES last night: Last June, Lagrange was victimized for 11 stolen bases in 4 IP for Somerset. The next day, Boone said Lagrange told coaches, "That's never happening again" and worked on a slide step. Reduced his delivery time to plate from 1.8 to 1.2 seconds. (4) @JackCurryYES: With Lagrange's high-octane fastball, 2 sliders and a changeup, the Yankees rightfully view him as a starter. But, at some point this season, I could see the Yankees using him as a weapon out of the pen. Lagrange said he would do "whatever they need" to reach the majors. (5) @JackCurryYES: The buzz continues around Carlos Lagrange, who tossed 4 scoreless innings last night and hit 103 w/ his fastball. Lagrange has worked on refining his mechanics to be more consistent in the strike zone. It's working. He said this spring has been "a really, really good experience" (6) @JackCurryYES: Ryan Yarbrough has returned to the Yankees from Team USA. Yarbrough said it was always the plan for him to only participate in pool play so he could get back to the Yankees and get built up for the season. (7) @BryanHoch: Over four dominant relief innings Wednesday, Carlos Lagrange threw 19 fastballs that averaged 101.5 mph, maxing at 103.1 mph. He was so efficient, Lagrange (42 pitches) had to empty the rest of his allotted pitch count in the bullpen after the game. (8) @BryanHoch: Since playing his first spring game on March 5, Giancarlo Stanton is 4-for-11 (.364) with 3 HRs. “My timing is getting more precise, being able to replicate multiple games," he said. "I’ve been able to make the adjustments. The past game or two, my timing wasn’t there. I was able to go make the adjustments and come back and feel a little better. So that’s usually how spring goes. Put back to back together, put three in a row.” (1) @JackCurryYES: Schlittler looked efficient and dominant in retiring 12 of 14 Jays. Cam didn’t throw any change ups and said the pitch “isn’t a necessity” now. He is throwing 2 versions of his cutter. Since he gets a lot of late swings vs his fastball, he needs to be judicious w/ adding a change (2) @JackCurryYES: Interesting defensive drill by the Yankees right now. With a man on first and no outs, the Yankees are practicing letting pop ups to the right side drop so they can dupe the runners and try to turn a DP. Circumstances must be right. But remember this tweet if it happens this year (3) @JackCurryYES: While speaking with Ryan McMahon about the intricacies of infield defense, unsolicited, he brought up George Lombard, Jr. “Look at George’s feet. He’s always in the right position. When you see a good infielder, his feet are always doing the right things.” https://i.imgur.com/OAtfQ3r.jpg
