Chelsea are reported to be having second thoughts as to whether to
hold onto Dutch international defender Mario Melchiot who contract
runs out this summer.
Chelsea have always indicated up till now that the Dutchman did not
fit into their plans for next season but now seem to have done a
complete U-turn and are now apparently keen to hold onto the former
Ajax defender.
Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon is now planning to open talks with the
27-year-old player who has indicated that he wants to stay but will
first await until Chelsea reveal who will be in charge next season,
before making a decision.
