Arsenal close to signing Hatem Trabelsi

Although the 'Sunday Express' reported that Ajax defender Hatem
Trabelsi will not be making his dream transfer to London outfit
Arsenal, the Englsih daily newspaper ’Independent’have reported
that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Ajax fullback Hatem
Trabelsi.
The Independent says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to prove
to Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira, who has been targeted by Real
Madrid, that the club intend to underpin their squad in order to
maintain their hold on the Premiership title in the face of
strengthened outfits at Chelsea and Manchester United.
Wenger move swiftly yesterday to ensure he beats Newcastle to the
Tunisian who has fallen out with Ajax over a contract dispute and
the club are poised to sign the Trabelsi for 5.5 million euros.
