Van Nistelrooy and Advocaat's tense relations became apparent for all to see when Van Nistelrooy threw a tantrum during the Euro 2004 qualifier with the Czech Republic for being substituted. 近日來得不到荷蘭主帥青睞的明星前鋒范尼，透露出他已經對這位"橙色軍團"教頭不具信心。他們兩人的關係越趨緊張。在歐錦賽預賽荷蘭作客迎戰捷克一役，范尼曾因不滿被換下而對教練發脾氣，他們兩人的緊張關係也就是從那時開始正式曝光在眾人目前。 In an interview in L'Equipe, van Nistelrooy revealed his unhappiness. "Considering the fact that he substitutes me systematically, I don't feel any trust in him. I don't like to say it but I feel that it will go like this. I am on the bench against Scotland. It will be Patrick Kluivert. I have no doubts at all, even though Advocaat hasn't said a word yet. But OK, the most important thing is that we qualify for Portugal."van Nistelrooy said. " During the qualifiers I have played five matches and in those games, I have been substituted four times after 60 to 70 minutes. I have asked Advocaat: 'Am I your striker or not?' He said yes but looking at the systematic substituting of me. I feel no confidence from the manager. So I have told him: 'you have to give me a real chance or you must start with another player.'
