"Tevez was one of the players who impressed me in the World Cup and I made
a discreet inquiry about him.
"It was no more than one telephone call, but I was told that we had
absolutely no chance of getting him and I did not pursue my inquiry any
further.
"That's why I was surprised when I found out that Alan Pardew had signed
both Tevez and Mascherano from Corinthians."

至於UEFA CUP助球隊一球定勝的Sibierski, 德哥說：
"If Shola Ameobi passes a fitness test then Sibierski will be on our bench
tomorrow, but he will accept this in the right manner. For we have signed
someone who lives his life like a professional footballer should.
"He is very serious about the game and everything he does smacks of
professionalism. And I know that if he gets his opportunities here he will
play a big part for us this season.
"He has a deft touch and an eye not only for a goal, but for a goal-making
pass."
