話說上禮拜六沒比賽
砲德去了荷蘭看了一場 AZ Alkmaar 的比賽
原來是去看該隊的左後防 Tim de Cler
不過他的表現似乎讓 Roeder 不太滿意
(這聽聽就好, 我相信Roeder眼光比Scouts還差)
然後他接受訪問立即否認了有關Shevchenko外借至新堡的珍珠芭樂級報導：
"I am afraid some of the transfer talk over the weekend is pure fantasy."
而傳聞跟新堡有關係但並非砲德收購名單的人物有...
意甲羅馬的Vincenzo Montella, 英冠榜首Preston的David Nugent
但一提到Darren Bent, 砲德就開始嘴砲了：
"I have been a fan of Darren Bent from the time I first saw him play for
Ipswich, and in the summer we asked Charlton about him and were quoted ￡15m.
"We have not been back to The Valley for several reasons one of them being
that Charlton would not sell Bent to us because it would send a terrible
message out to their supporters.
"Certainly reports saying that we are offering James Milner and Stephen
Carr in part-exchange for Bent are not correct, because both these players are
very much in my plans.
"And as far as our supporters are concerned, it is important that while
they must know we are busy and still monitoring several situations no decision
has been made on any player we will be trying to bring to St James' Park."
另外，他說沒收到任何西班牙球會對Luque有興趣的消息
