FA to scrutinise Barton challenge
The Newcastle midfielder went into the tackle with his studs high and clashed
with Etuhu in the aftermath.
No foul was awarded by match referee Martin Atkinson.
An FA spokesman said: "We will be looking to clarify with the referee whether
he saw the incident or not. If not, we will review the incident."
The FA can issue a violent conduct charge retrospectively in instances where
the match official does not notice the incident but later highlights it in
his report.
Barton could be subject to a three-game ban.
