Michael Owen： "We've just opened contract talks, we are talking "I've got this season left regardless and we're working on a deal to stay longer. There'll probably be news in a month or two. "We have got a lot of good players, but our squad wasn't the biggest last year. "We haven't got a massive squad. We don't want size for the sake of size, but we obviously want quality. "No one has made any moves in the transfer market, hardly, yet. It always tends to happen later on in the summer. "We will see who we let go, or who we buy. But obviously I am like any Newcastle supporter and want the better players to come and we don't want to lose our best players either." 最近才開始談續約，看他的談話內容似乎是也有共識希望要留下來。最主要的重點是稍微的提了一下，他希望看到好球員進來。 Steven Taylor： It's understood that talks over a new deal for Steven Taylor are also progressing. 事實上我沒有看到球員本人的訪談，但每日郵報有提到他應該會簽新約，因為他的經紀人似乎跟高層在倫敦談。至於他那貪心的老爸已經不是他的經紀人了，他聘了一個經紀人來處理合約。不過他老爸應該還是會繼續干涉吧.... David Edgar： "I would wake up and it was sore but I would stretch it out, I'd train and I'd play. Afterwards I'd literally be lying on the couch and I couldn't get up. And then it would be fine again in a day or two. "I knew it was sore and that eventually I'd get it operated on." "He (Keegan) basically told me that it's up to me in pre -season - he's going to give me a chance and that's all I've ever asked for and wanted. He's old school football. Whoever is the best plays." "If I don't have a new contract by Christmas time I'll have to look elsewhere. I'm not sitting until my contract runs out at the end of next summer. I want to stay with Newcastle but I want them to tell me in advance if I'm not getting one so I can go elsewhere."
