http://www.nufc.com/ 有人可以告訴我這個陣容是怎麼回事嗎.......？看看人家的陣容跟替補，再看看自己的，我都想替Owen跟Martins流淚了。擷取nufc.com的重點報導，SSN等報導表示Terry Venables將在接下來決定是否要接下一份到10月底的暫時主帥的工作。另外BBC等報導訪問了正在跟Ashley談收購的NVA management發言人Chris Nathaniel 他們除了在官網公開表示他們確實想收購紐卡外，在BBC的訪問中提到： "We're still at the early stages, but hopefully in the next 48 hours we'll be in a position to make a statement and take the situation further." --- According to latest reports, Terry Venables is set to become our interim Manager for around six weeks, while new owners are found. And such is our plight that the news is almost welcome, with another sorry defeat and the threat of David O'Leary darkening our doors. A relatively meagre crowd turned up at St. James' to see a frankly awful game between two clueless sides and for the third game in a row the least worst team prevailed. Unfortunately that again turned out to be the opposition, as another early exit from this competition left us to concentrate on the league for the rest of the year. If Venables was watching it would have been through his fingers as our midfield and defence had a disastrous evening and only Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins showed any glimpses of their ability. A first half that was, at best, tame and tepid provided almost nothing in the way of chances with Lennon and Pavlyuchenko having efforts that drifted wide of Shay's right hand post. Only a running battle between Coloccini and Pavlyuchenko that saw the attacker take a boot in the groin and later retaliate with a fist in the defender's face gave the first 45 minutes a point of interest. Unless you include a spot of impromptu moonwalking from Geremi as he stumbled and slipped after yet another stray pass. After the break it was much of the same until Lennon found Pavlyuchenko unmarked, to nod past Given and give Spurs a barely deserved lead. Minutes later the lead was doubled when a poor Coloccini pass was turned into a calamity by a prancing Taylor who inexplicably tried to dummy O'Hara but gifted him the easiest of goals to effectively end the contest. Owen managed to sweep home a parried cross in the 90th minute but our only chance of an injury time leveller came and went when N'Zogbia failed to find any of his ten colleagues from a corner. A massively depressing night, not just in terms of the result, but the manner of the defeat to struggling opponents. El Tel managed to do a 'Red Adair' at 'Boro and keep them up when Bryan Robson had worked his own brand of magic on smogside. Well, he'll need to do something of biblical proportions to save us.
