When I was coaching at Newcastle with Sir Bobby, Gary was as perfect a pro as you could ever wish to work with- 100% committed, dedicated to his profession and, above all, a wonderful colleague and friend. -- John Carver ──────────────────────────────────────── Gary was a great friend, the ultimate professional and, will be sorely missed by everyone. -- Steve Harper ──────────────────────────────────────── He was a great friend, great bloke and great footballer. When I was coming through the ranks he was the player that all the young lads looked up to and he was always giving you advice and making sure you did the right things.
