OSLO, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Norwegian coach Nils Johan Semb has left out
striker Tore Andre Flo of English first division Sunderland from a squad
named on Tuesday to play Scotland in a friendly on August 20.
The game in Oslo (kickoff 1800 GMT) will be Norway's last warm-up before
facing Bosnia in a Euro 2004 qualifying game on September 6. Norway are
second in Group Two, two points behind behind leaders Denmark.
Flo did not even sit on the bench when Sunderland lost 2-0 to Nottingham
Forest in the first game of the season on Saturday and is seen as a candidate
for transfer from the cash-strapped club.
"Tore Andre is in a special situation. He plays well and scores goals but
is out probably because of political reasons," Semb said. "If he gets a
(new) club and starts playing quickly, he'll be a candidate against Bosnia."
Among other changes, Semb brought in uncapped midfielder Jan Gunnar Solli,
newly signed by Norwegian league leaders Rosenborg Trondheim from Odd Grenland.
As usual, Semb did not spell out who would be midfielder or striker.
