Smith to Undergo Surgery on Left Knee
Nuggets guard suffered injury on Feb. 20 in San Antonio
DENVER, Feb. 21 -- Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith suffered a torn lateral
meniscus in his left knee in the second quarter of last night’s game against
San Antonio. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery on the knee this afternoon
and will be sidelined for approximately 3-4 weeks.
Smith has appeared in 42 games for the Nuggets this season, averaging a
career-high 15.4 ppg and 2.5 rpg in 27.2 minutes. He leads the team in
three-point field goals made with 114 (114-292/.390).
