Mayo and Jamal Crawford during training camp prior to the start of the 2011-12 season. The fact that both of these deals failed in the final stages is the root cause for the deteriorating relationship between Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird and general manager David Morway. Kevin Pritchard is expected to be promoted to general manager in the next few days, forcing Morway out as a Pacers executive.
