Justin Germano made his first start after reporting to Triple-A Portland
on Tuesday and allowed three runs in six innings.
He fanned eight. No team opted to grab Germano off waivers after the Padres
designated him for assignment. He could rejoin San Diego as a fifth starter
later on.
