Gerstner / The Detroit News The NBA is taking this weekend's All-Star festivities to Las Vegas, promising bigger, better and glitzier proceedings. Here are five facts about the events: More international presence: There will be 215 countries airing All-Star coverage, with the game itself being broadcast in 43 languages. The game will be broadcast over the Internet in English, Spanish, Mandarin, French, Tagalog, Russian, German, Polish and Portuguese. More media: Thirteen new broadcasting companies will show the game in their countries -- two in China, and one each in Romania, Sweden, Taiwan, Venezuela, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Panama, Guatemala, Peru and Greece. More HD cameras: TNT will be using 28 high definition cameras for the All-Star Saturday festivities, including the slam dunk competition and three-point shootout. More international players: Eight players not born in the United States will compete in weekend events -- Andrea Bargnani (Italy); Boris Diaw, Ronny Turiaf and Tony Parker (France); Dirk Nowitzki (Germany); Andrew Bogut (Australia); Jorge Garbajosa (Spain); and Tim Duncan (U.S. Virgin Islands). The international delegation actually numbers 10; Steve Nash (Canada) and Yao Ming (China) are injured and will not play. More marketing: Large photos of NBA players -- actually images reproduced onto giant pieces of thin plastic -- adorn landmarks around the Vegas strip. Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade, among others, stand stories tall on buildings such as the Luxor pyramid and the gold-windowed Mandalay Bay resort. 有人要翻嗎 或是不翻也行 大家看看就好 -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.229.127.146
