大聯盟官網上的新聞分析。美聯部份作者是Jim Molony,國聯部份作者是John Schlegel。 綜合來說,美聯情勢較混沌,國聯則呈現兩雄爭鋒的局面。 美聯方面的有利競逐者: Bobby Crosby / A's SS Born: 01/12/80 Height: 6'3" Weight: 195 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: (計算至2004/9/28,以下皆同) .246, 128 H, 69 R, 21 HR, 62 RBI, 227 TB Inside the numbers: Crosby leads all AL rookies in homers, RBIs, hits, total bases, runs, doubles, extra-base hits and slugging. Comment: The statistics alone should make Crosby the favorite, but as he's also on a team contending for the playoffs and plays a crucial defensive position, his compelling performance is additional justification for his selection as 2004 American League Rookie of the Year. Daniel Cabrera / O's P Born: 05/28/81 Height: 6'7" Weight: 220 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: 12-7, 4.67 ERA, 146.1 IP, 1 SHO Inside the numbers: With the exception of an awful August, Cabrera has been solid from start to finish, going 11-5 with a 3.57 ERA during the other six months. Comment: Cabrera leads all AL rookies in wins, complete games, shutouts and innings, and his 3-0 record in September only strengthened his case. Zack Greinke / KC P Born: 10/21/83 Height: 6'2" Weight: 200 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: 8-10, 4.13 ERA, 133.0 IP, 23 BB, 92 K Inside the numbers: Greinke, who has the best ERA of any AL rookie starter and a 5-to-1 strikeouts -to-walks ratio since the All-Star break, is 6-2 with a 3.38 ERA in his last 10 starts. Comment: He made his debut on May 22 and doesn't turn 21 until Oct. 21. His losing record and amount of home runs allowed (26) may cause him to come up short in the balloting, but this kid has future Cy Young Award winner written all over him. Shingo Takatsu (高津臣吾) / CWS P Born: 11/25/68 Height: 6'0" Weight: 180 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: 6-4, 2.43 ERA in 56 games, converted 18 of 19 save opportunities, 48 K, 21 BB,59.1 IP Inside the numbers: Those are solid overall numbers, but after starting the season 4-1 with a 1.30 ERA and five saves, Takatsu hasn't been as dominating since the break, going 2-3 with a 4.01 ERA and allowing 31 baserunners in his last 24 2/3 innings. Comment: After spending 13 years with the Yakult Swallows and playing on four Japanese League championship teams, some may find it difficult to consider a 34-year-old for Rookie of the Year honors -- especially one who is the Japanese League's all-time saves leader. Alexis Rios / TOR RF Born: 02/18/81 Height: 6'5" Weight: 195 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: .288, 1 HR, 27 RBI, 13 SB, 94 H, 7 3B, 53 R, .334 OBP Inside the numbers: Rios leads all rookies in triples, steals and outfield assists, and ranks among the Major League leaders in outfield assists with 10. Comment: This former first-round pick and MVP of the Eastern League last season has blossomed into an everyday player. Rios is the only rookie contender, other than Kansas City's David DeJesus (94 hits in 89 games), who has more hits (116) than games played (104). 其他可能人選: 6. David DeJesus, OF, Kansas City; 7. Kevin Gregg, RHP, Anaheim; 8. Jason Frasor, RHP, Toronto; 9. Justin Duscherer, RHP, Oakland; 10. Ross Gload, OF, Chicago; 11. John Buck, C, Kansas City; 12. Kevin Youkilis, 3B, Boston; 13. Erik Bedard, RHP, Baltimore; 14. Robb Quinlan, 3B, Anaheim; 15. Bucky Jacobsen, 1B, Seattle. 國聯方面的有利競逐者: Jason Bay / PIT LF Born: 09/20/78 Height: 6'2" Weight: 200 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: .295, 25 HR, 79 RBI, .571 SLG Inside the numbers: Bay's .327 average (34-for-104, 8 HR) with runners in scoring position projects major RBI potential. Comment: For anyone who has followed the Pirates this year, this is a no-brainer. Bay has set the club rookie record for homers and is two shy of Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner's mark in RBIs -- two things Barry Bonds, for one, didn't accomplish -- and his slugging percentage is in the top five all-time among rookies. It's a powerful argument. Khalil Greene / SD SS Born: 10/21/79 Height: 5'11" Weight: 210 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: .273, 15 HR, 65 RBI, 67 R, 31 2B Inside the numbers: Greene had 41 extra-base hits, beating the franchise mark for shortstops set by Tony Fernandez in 1992. Comment: Padres followers will tell Pirates followers: You have to have watched Greene day after day to appreciate how great he was this year. His offensive numbers are more than solid, and his defensive play was nothing short of extraordinary. Teammates credited several of San Diego's victories to his remarkably poised play at the most important position on the field, particularly impressive with the Padres in a playoff chase. Matt Holliday / COL LF Born: 01/15/80 Height: 6'4" Weight: 235 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R 2004 Stats: .290, 14 HR, 57 RBI Inside the numbers: Only Todd Helton has hit more homers as a Rockies rookie, with 25 in 1998. Comment: Holliday's blossoming potential and his ability to take on the Major League challenge since his April promotion were big reasons why GM Dan O'Dowd felt he could trade stalwart outfielder Larry Walker. There are worse places for a corner outfielder to show off his offensive skill, and Holliday, predictably, had more pop on the road, but he made a solid first impression. Aaron Miles / COL 2B Born: 12/15/76 Height: 5'7" Weight: 180 lbs Bats: S / Throws: R 2004 Stats: .294, 6 HR, 46 RBI, 71 R, 146 H Inside the numbers: Miles is attempting to become the first rookie second baseman to hit .300 since Boston's Marty Barrett in 1984. Comment: A remarkable showing on April 14 -- when he homered from both sides of the plate and drove in six runs -- put Miles on the radar screen, and he followed through with a season that might not have been as spectacular as that game but definitely solidified his status as a core element of the Rockies' future. Since April 14 he has tallied enough hits and runs to lead all NL rookies. AKINORI OTSUKA(大塚晶則) / SD RHP 2004 Stats: 7-2, 1.79 ERA, 71 APP, 1.06 WHIP Inside the numbers: Otsuka has matched New York's Tom Gordon for the Major League lead with 34 holds. Comment: A six-year veteran in Japan, Otsuka has been invaluable in contributing to Trevor Hoffman's record sixth 40-save season. With a double-clutching delivery and a combination of velocity and movement reminiscent of Hideo Nomo in his heyday, Otsuka had the best first season of a player from Japan in 2004. 其他可能人選: Kaz Matsui, Mets; Terrmel Sledge, Expos -- 9/28還有另一篇Manager of the Year的分析, 9/29則預告賽揚獎跟MVP的人選分析。 -- 如果喜歡需要理由 錢就可以買一個人的真心 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.109.139.158
