"Sam," he yelled to Raptor coach Sam Mitchell, "are you going to have him out there shooting threes? He's got that in his game?" Mitchell laughed, shrugged his shoulders and replied: "Well, better find out now." And that's the biggest reason Chris Bosh showed up to play three summer league games. In an intriguing proposition that could have far-reaching roster implications, Mitchell and general manager Rob Babcock are trying to create a small forward out of the 6-foot-11, 230-pound Bosh, who spent his rookie season being beaten on by bigger, stronger centres. "Anyway we can use ... his talent and his length (and) his quickness is going to be a plus for us," said Mitchell. "And now's the time to experiment." Bosh, who left before yesterday's 64-61 loss to the Detroit Pistons for a family engagement, knows he's not nearly ready to make the move permanently but it was the main reason he showed up here. "I've got a lot of work to do at it, especially guarding those quicker guys but it's just getting used to playing there, hopefully for this season," he said. "I can get some open shots, I guess it's getting to the bucket because I'm not on a bigger, slower guy now. I'm on a guy who's just as fast." While far from a done deal, shifting Bosh to small forward would increase the glut of players on the roster who play there or one of the guard positions. It could allow Babcock to aggressively explore trades for a centre or power forward, perhaps even in some blockbuster involving someone like Vince Carter. While no one is suggesting a move is imminent, or even on the backburner, turning one of the eight or nine guards and small forwards into a young frontcourt talent would balance out the Raptor roster. A shift of Bosh would also allow the Raptors to play the style Mitchell is spending the summer league drilling into them. While only a few of the players here — Bosh, Roger Mason Jr., Rafael Araujo — are going to be on the team next season and a couple others — Matt Bonner and Pape Sow — might garner training camp invitations, Mitchell wants to turn Toronto into a running team, as opposed to the walk-it-up style under Kevin O'Neill last year. "I don't want to be a coach where you have them come down and have to call every play and play against the shot clock," said Mitchell. "If we can get a shot inside eight or 10 seconds, then it's a good shot. "I don't know too many offences that you can run in the NBA that get layups, not in the halfcourt." And no one likes to play up-tempo more than players do. "I think the system these guys have put in is great," said Mason. "It's great for me personally, because I like to push the ball and run. And we've got athletes on the team and once the rest of the guys see the system Sam and the other guys have brought here, they're really going to love it." The most surprising player here has been Sow, the 6-10 power forward who was a second-round draft pick last month. While extremely raw (he's only played basketball for about seven years) he has showed good rebounding abilities and quickness around the basket. He's probably destined for Europe next fall but presents an interesting future possibility. "I like him. He's high energy, a great kid and works his tail off," said Babcock of Sow. ----------------------------------- 個人感想 Bosh跑去打SF並不意外他的體型跟Lewis很像而且他被稱為左手的KG阿........ 他能打SF..應該沒啥了不起的吧只是這樣隊形變化就很大了然後Bosh沒打pistons那場是請假還有就是明年的球風應該會比較好看好像會要打run and gun....
