Raptors Exercise Option on Bosh
July 27, 2005) -- The Toronto Raptors announced Monday they have exercised
their contract option on forward Chris Bosh. Bosh is now signed with the team
through the 2006-07 season. Per team policy, financial terms of the deal were
not disclosed.

Per the collective bargaining agreement, the Raptors had until October 31 to
exercise their option on Bosh. He will become a restricted free agent
following the 2006-07 season with the Raptors holding the right of first
refusal.

The Raptors’ first-round draft pick (fourth overall) in 2003, Bosh has
averaged 14.2 points and 8.2 rebounds in 156 games. He averaged 16.8 points
and a team-leading 8.9 rebounds last season. Bosh totaled a team-best 32
double-doubles, including a career-high 33 points on March 6 at New Orleans
and 22 rebounds on March 25 at Philadelphia. He was named to Team Sophomore
for the NBA’s 2005 got milk? Rookie Challenge during All-Star Weekend in
Denver, where he totaled 26 points and game high’s of 14 rebounds and four
steals.
