ST. PETERSBURG -- It could come down to the wire for four of Tampa Bay's top Draft picks. Out of the 12 prospects the Rays drafted in the first two rounds of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, the club has signed eight of them. Guerrieri also grew up a Gamecocks fan in the Columbia, S.C., area. "I've always pictured myself playing college baseball first before any professional baseball takes place," he said in an interview shortly after the Draft. "I'm a huge Gamecocks fan, and I'm still very committed to [South Carolina]." Negotiations between the Rays and Guerrieri are expected to last right up until the deadline. One player in particular who college outfielders are looking at is George Springer from UConn, who was selected with the No. 11 pick by the Houston Astros.
