Papelbon says his season is over
Jonathan Papelbon, who injured his shoulder two weeks ago, said Friday that
he won't be returning this season.
Papelbon said he feels great, but he cited the Francisco Liriano situation in
the decision to call it a season. He also indicated that he expects to return
next season as a starter, although manager Terry Francona said that decision
hasn't been made yet. Mike Timlin is currently occupying the closer's role in
Papelbon's place.
