By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle Guard Kirk Snyder was healthy and Bonzi Wells (sore right foot) was unable to play, but Snyder was placed on the inactive list after having had his minutes drastically cut Wednesday. With Wells out, Snyder had played 18 minutes in Denver, 29 minutes against San Antonio and 14 minutes against Cleveland, before playing only the last five minutes Wednesday. His time increased by Tracy McGrady's early foul trouble against the Nuggets and a need for an extra guard against L eBron James on Monday. "How do I put this kindly?" coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "We had a disagreement at practice today about how hard he was working and his response put him on the inactive list." Asked if the move was only for Friday, Van Gundy said: "I don't know. I don't know how he's going to work tomorrow." "I like the eight (playing) right now. I feel comfortable with eight. You're not trying to force feed minutes." That's not great for everybody I think that's right for our team right now, eight, 8 1/2 guys. Nothing's set in stone, other than you need everybody doing their job, whether it's Kirk playing 13 minutes in Cleveland or five mop-up minutes in Boston, you just need to do your job and do it as hard as you can every single day. "You have to find something that works. When you analyze stuff, certain trends stand out and you go from there. Whether you're active, inactive, play, don't play, you have to do what you have to do." "You can't play everybody," coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "His defensive quickness in a couple games has been helpful.
