Just days after the Houston Rockets announced they were going to sign guard
Patrick Beverley they are now sending him to their NBA D-League affiliate,
the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
The Rockets made it official yesterday signing him to a multi-year contract
and sending him to the Valley, as well as releasing point guard Scott Machado
to make room for Beverley.
I don’t think Patrick will be in the Valley for long. There is now an open
spot on the 12-man roster that needs to be filled. If Beverley goes to the
Valley and impresses everyone I fully expect for him join the Rockets soon
after
.
All it will take for him to get playing time for the Rockets is for Jeremy
Lin or Toney Douglas to either get injured or to start to struggle. Kevin
McHale will always play the best available players no matter who it is. Let’
s just hope he makes the best of his opportunity when he gets it.
