Anthony Seratelli Announces Retirement Played in 235 games with Omaha, won Triple-A Championship in 2013 By Andrew Green / Omaha Storm Chasers02/03/2016 12:34 PM ET 2012-13 Storm Chasers infielder/outfielder Anthony Seratelli, who won a Triple-A National Championship with the club in 2013, announced his retirement from baseball on Wednesday via his Twitter account. Seratelli played in 235 contests in a Storm Chasers uniform between those two seasons, combining for a .286 average (224-784), adding 125 runs, 34 doubles, six triples, 28 homers and 107 RBI, in addition to 39 steals. Seratelli's career totals rank among the top ten Storm Chasers players in the Werner Park era (since 2011), which includes placing third in walks (121), sixth in homers, and seventh in games played, total bases (354) and steals. Some of Seratelli's best invidual games came in 2012, including a pair of 4-for-4 outings against the Memphis Redbirds (April 27) and Nashville Sounds (August 18), as well as a two-homer effort on June 25 at Oklahoma City. He also smashed a home run in Game 3 of the 2012 Pacific Coast League American Conference Finals to help lead to a 7-4 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes, in addition to a walk-off single on July 23, 2013 versus the Oklahoma City RedHawks. Seratelli was also a very versatile player in the field for Omaha, playing a total of six different positions during his Storm Chasers career. Those positions included first base (41 games), second base (24), shortstop (15) and third base (54), as well as left field (one) and right field (92), with the only outliers being pitcher, catcher and center field. In total over his eight-year minor league career, the 32-year-old posted a .276 average (759-2754) in 856 contests, adding 451 runs, 117 doubles, 35 triples, 66 homers and 383 RBI, along with 164 stolen bases.
