SAN FRANCISCO -- Ray Durham cracked a two-run single in the bottom of the
ninth inning, lifting San Francisco to a 7-6 victory over the Milwaukee
Brewers on Wednesday at AT&T Park.
Barry Bonds' pinch-hit single opened the inning, then Steve Finley chopped a
double through the infield and pinch-runner Jose Vizcaino raced to third.
After an intentional walk to Moises Alou, Durham's sharp single got past
second baseman Rickie Weeks and into right field.
Giant starter Matt Morris yielded six runs on seven hits in the first three
innings, including Carlos Lee's two-run shot in the first, but settled down
and threw hitless ball through the seventh.
Trailing, 6-2, the Giants stormed back, with Durham blasting a two-run homer
in the fifth and rookie Eliezer Alfonzo making it 6-5 with an eighth-inning
solo shot.
