Just over a month later, he won the Pacific Life Open to put him in any talks involving the elite players of tennis -- usually reserved to just Spain's Rafael Nadal and Switzerland's Roger Federer. Politically minded In February of 2008, Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia, causing civil unrest in an area that most of Djokovic's family calls home. The separation from Serbia, as well as angering most Serbs, has caused division in Kosovo. Djokovic taped a speech in that same month that was aired in Belgrade during a rally to keep Kosovo and Serbia as one. "I wanted to give the people support, and I just wanted to let them know that I am there with them and that I'm supporting Serbia and Kosovo," Djokovic told reporters in Indian Wells. "... This was a very unique situation, so I did something that I felt (like) doing." Still the Djok-er While he has touched on much more serious topics, Djokovic has shown he's still just a kid, soon to be 21, in a lot of ways. Most notably was his "play" at the 2007 U.S. Open where video of Djokovic doing impersonations of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova had made its rounds on YouTube and around the internet.
