Looking forward to the World Cup!
Breath deeply and move forward - that's the motto for the coming days and
weeks. National Team, Bundesliga and Champions League - there are no rests
doing the best job in the world…
But the pressures is taking it's toll. Especially at Schalke where it's
currently looking a bit gloomy out. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is re-injured,
Jefferson Farfan injured, Kevin Prince is struck and so is Adam Szalai. This
should not be an attempt to seek a preliminary excuse for a poor performance.
For a poor performance, there are no excuses. What I wanted to draw your
attention to is this: We, the team of FC Schalke 04 need your support against
Braunschweig more than ever. Christian Clemens, Max Meyer and Julian Draxler
are all young players and above all, in order to play good games and have
good performances, they need something: your trust! Euch im Rücken!
Schalke have the best fans in the world and with your help, I am firmly
convinced that we will come out of this misery with strength.
As for my week: I’m glad I could help against Sweden. The qualification was
already in the bag, we have earned it and confidently made the leap to
Brazil. I look forward to the World Cup and I am quite sure that we can play
a really good role in it.
