McGrady likely not coming to Chicago

大意就是,這次換公牛來選擇了。
週一的測試來說,小麥的投籃不錯,但是移動和狀況並不是太好。
公牛較可能放棄。
Tracy McGrady left the Berto Center on Monday without a contract offer
after working out for roughly an hour and then meeting with Bulls management
after lunch.
This time, it wasn't McGrady's choice.
....
According to two people who witnessed the workout, McGrady shot the ball
well but didn't move with much fluidity or exhibit superior conditioning.
Andy Greer, who served as an assistant with the Rockets along with coach Tom
Thibodeau when McGrady played there, led the workout.
Those two coaches' familiarity with McGrady, as well as Rose's public
lobbying for him that stems, in part, from their shared agency, represent
McGrady's best chance at landing a Bulls offer. Yet no definitive decision
has been made, and one league source who spoke with Bulls management said he
wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls passed.

Another source said management has considered a non-guaranteed deal near
the veteran's minimum of $1.35 million if an offer is made, but that an offer
is unlikely.
For those still pining for McGrady, I would offer you this rationale on why
if the Bulls pass on him it's probably for the best.
First, let's face it, no one wants McGrady for what he's done in the past two
seasons where he's been more or less epically terrible. We remember the
completely dominant Tracy McGrady from many years ago, the seven time
all-star, and hope that we could somehow get that guy back for next to
nothing.
That's not going to happen. The Knicks had a long look at him last season
and weren't interested in bringing him back. The Clippers, who'd do almost
anything for a box office draw, passed on him for Rasual Butler. The Bulls
have looked at him now, and reports state it that he doesn't have good
mobility anymore.
That old Tracy McGrady is simply gone.
At one point, do you accept that this guy likely can't play at a high level
any more? How many franchises need to look at him closely and say "no
thanks" before you stop thinking all the talent evaluators are crazy?
Those clamoring about the Bulls inability to take risks with his personality
or attitude are wrong. If they were unwilling to entertain those things then
they wouldn't have brought him in for the workout.
They clearly considered signing him if he looked healthy. They wouldn't
waste their time. Thibodeau worked with him for three years in Houston, so
obviously the Bulls had a fair understanding of him as a person prior to
bringing him in for a workout.
This isn't about attitude at all. It's about on court play. It's not about
what a guy did in the past, but about what he's going to do this year and in
the future. If the Bulls, as I presently expect, don't sign McGrady it will
simply be because he no longer has the basketball talent left to help this
team.
The numbers from last year support that. The reports about his movement in
this workout support that. The reaction of other teams who've looked at him
support that.
We want McGrady because of the glimmer of hope that we can get an all-star
for cheap, but that's an illusion. It's not going to happen. That's not
what he can do right now. If it was, he would have left the Berto center
with a contract in hand.
He didn't.
