Daily Tennis Player Awards: The Women
Player of the Year: Serena Williams
去年這個獎項並沒有頒發給任何人；去年有三個候選人(Venus Williams, Jennifer
Capriati, Lindsay Davenport),但沒有一位你會認為是直得獲此獎ㄉ(Davenport只有

Davenport at Filderstadt 1998, Jennifer Capriati at Filderstadt 2001, and
Venus Williams at Dubai 2002. She didn't beat Serena Williams at Wimbledon,
though. And why not? Well, for one thing, she retired at Wimbledon 2002.
Serena, who in 1999 lost twice to Testud (the only player to beat her twice
that year), is no doubt very grateful.
Player We'd Most Like to Watch: Martina Hingis

Worst Hissy Fit: Jelena Dokic
We have a repeat winner here; Dokic won last year, and now is outdoing hers
elf. At Eastbourne 2002, Dokic got bent all out of shape because she wasn't
allowed to play her opening match on Center Court. But there was a reason:
Martina Navratilova was playing the feature match.

This was the infamous "little black cocktail dress" match, at which some
observers thought Hantuchova was trying to send a message to Kournikova.
No luck; Hingis/Kournikova won -- and they drew a very full crowd to do it.
They also filled Arthur Ashe Stadium for most of their doubles matches at
the U. S. Open.
Stupidest Fed Cup Decision:
