1.This assessment is quite wrong, sure Safin has mental problem and he
still needs to work in this area but there is marked improvement he
has made to address his mental problem, this is clearly shown in his
match against Roddick and Todd Martin, Against Roddick he lost the
first set but came back strongly and against Martin he was 1:2 down
was also able to come back, to say he has not make improvement
in the mental area of his game clearly shown you have not watched
the two matches, against Agassi he pull out great play in both first
and second set and the fifth set. I think it was a great come back
to even reached the final after a disastrous 2003, Safin had more
matches than he had in one tournament than he had in last six months,
it is not surprsie Safin had a really flat day.
2.Sampras' can't win the French Open, it is not only because he is no strong
physically,
but more important his weapon that is his serve is not a strong factor on
clay, his
baseline game is simply not as consistant as a good clay court player, he
does not have
the same level of court craft of say an Edberg or McEnroe.
