成績現在也起不來 一直說自己沒動力了
也許在一些球迷眼裡不是一個很敬業的網球選手
(或許打完他承諾球迷的比賽數量也是他對球迷負責的方式吧)
但他絕對是一個保護妹妹的好哥哥
他都快可以去拍三立的新戲"天下父母心"了

NEW YORK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Marat Safin threw a protective arm around his
little sister Dinara on Wednesday after the Russian world number one was
slammed for her wobbly performance in the first round of the U.S. Open.

Ever since Safina ascended to the top of the rankings in April, she has come
under a barrage of criticism as she had yet to back up her standing with a
grand slam title.

A mauling by Venus Williams in the Wimbledon semi-finals, where Safina won
just one game, followed by Tuesday’s match in which she almost suffered the
humiliation of becoming the first women’s top seed to perish in the first
round of the Open has only served to give her detractors a louder voice.

18 year old,” former U.S. Open champion Safin said after he bowed out of the
grand slam arena with a first-round loss to Austria’s Juergen Melzer.

especially when you’re number one in the world.”

Serena Williams was one of the most vocal critics of the system as she
struggled to understand how she could be ranked second despite winning two
majors this season. However, outside the slams, the American’s last tour
victory was in April 2008.

可是他上個巡迴賽冠軍要追溯到去年四月了
Safina on the other hand has been rewarded by a system that values
consistency rather than the quality of tournaments won.

現今的排名系統看重穩定性更甚於奪冠賽事的質量
Safin pointed out his sister, who has contested 15 finals in the past 12
months and won seven of them, was not the one to make up the rules and
pleaded: “She didn’t do the ranking. Deal with that. Leave her alone.”

而且排名系統也不是他創造的

Q. Can you give your thoughts on the WTA system whereby, no matter what the
result is here, if Serena for example wins the tournament, she will not take
over the No. 1 spot. Dinara will retain it. What are your thoughts on the
system?
可以說說你對排名系統的看法嗎? 就算小威贏了這個冠軍 他也不會登上第一
VENUS WILLIAMS: Well, my thought's that if you play consistent, you can be
very highly ranked. I guess it's all about playing consistent these days.
我的想法就是如果你的成績很穩定 就會有很高的排名
現在的系統就是著重在你能不能取得穩定的成績
(小威看了可能會在大威睡覺的時候偷捶大威的膝蓋)
Q. Is that your thought about how Dinara has done this year to earn that No.
1 ranking?
這就是你對Dinara當上世界第一的想法嗎?
VENUS WILLIAMS: She's played very consistently, and kudos to her and credit
to her for being able to hold onto that No. 1 ranking and playing so well.
他打的很穩定 有這樣的成績應該要給他肯定
