大家討論許久的Bali外卡問題，這邊試著做個釐清。我想Bali小年終賽是什麼我就不贅述了，起初聽到這樣的外卡選擇我也是蠻訝異的，不過，細看TF討論到的這篇雅加達郵報專訪，似乎比較有脈絡可循了。以下是節錄賽會總監 Kevin Livesey 的訪談內容： Q. Why is the event being held indoors in Bali? What is the surface like, and how will it play? 問：為什麼今年巴里的比賽改在室內呢？比賽的場地等計劃怎麼安排？ A. Due to the possibility of rain in November and the prospects of delays, we made a decision to move indoors. The courts will be laid in wooden sheets and painted the same as most of the European indoor tournaments. It will play medium fast, and I am sure that the players will enjoy the playing surface. 答：十一月印尼這邊容易下雨，為了避免對比賽造成影響，我們才打算直接就乾脆在室內辦。球場基本上會接續歐洲室內賽季的樣子，鋪上一種球速不會太快的球毯。我確信球員們打起來應該蠻舒服的。 Q.The tournament is considered one of the favorites among players. What makes it special? 問：這項賽事一向廣受球員喜愛，您認為是什麼讓一切成功的呢？ A.Quite simply the players over the years thoroughly enjoy Bali. We have been able to offer them wonderful hospitality with a lot of non-tennis related player activities. The players really do enjoy getting out of their tennis gear and into some fashion outfits, and they particularly enjoy the women's things like the spas, makeup etc. 答：幾年來巴里靠著本地的觀光資源、美好的飯店、場外活動，頗獲得球員普遍的肯定；球員們來這裡總算偶爾可以拋開網球、放鬆一下，享受如時裝秀、SPA、彩妝等新鮮事。 Q. There is a lot of speculation about who will qualify, and particularly who will be given wildcards. Anything you can share with us about will be coming to Nusa Dua? 問：球迷對究竟誰能來參賽一直多有臆測，特別是誰會拿到外卡。您可以給我們透露一些人選嗎？ A. It's a little early to talk about this, but players like Marion Bartoli, Jelena Jankovic and Yanina Wickmayer have qualified, although we have quite a few more tournaments to go before we can have a clear picture of the final player field. We have had many requests for wild cards but this is still a work in progress! 答：現在談這個有點早啦！目前確定有資格的人選大概只有Bartoli、Jankovic 跟 Wickmayer，其他還要看剩下幾個比賽球員們表現如何。不過的確，我們現階段有接到一些外卡的申請，當然我們也在審慎物色，總之這是個還在進行的工作。 Q. Your thoughts on the development on tennis in Asia, especially with the rise of Chinese women players? 問：您對現今亞洲女網的發展，尤其是幾位中國女將的崛起有什麼看法呢？ A. Well, we certainly have quite a few Chinese players coming through with Li Na leading the field, and there are also quite a number of Chinese Taipei players with good world rankings. Perhaps the most exciting news is with the young player, Noppawan Lertcheewakarn, from Thailand who who is the current Junior Girls Wimbledon Champion in singles and doubles -I think that this is a first for Asia! 答：亞洲近年在李娜這批中國選手的帶領下，確實有長足進步，台灣好幾位的選手也在世界網壇有一席之地。最令人振奮的還是新科溫網青少女雙料冠軍 Lertcheewakarn 吧！我想那是亞洲第一次。上面推文S大提到一些蛛絲馬跡，我在猜該不會有在要求轉籍什麼的吧XD？不過回到比較安全的推測，印尼賽會官方應該還是希望能夠發一張外卡給亞洲人，其中中國的選手可能會列入考慮，但面孔不見得新鮮了；台灣的選手，或許指的就是張凱貞，應該同樣是鎖定名單，詹詠然去年此地八強三盤惜敗 Hantuchova 後曾接受雅加達郵報半版專訪，也不無可能，但相較張凱貞的新鮮感不足，排名也略低；至於謝淑薇今年表現不若預期，可能性預料不高。賽會倒可能已經向泰國新希望 Lertcheewakarn 招手，不過 Lertcheewakarn 巡迴賽成績實在欠佳，也難怪賽會同樣向張凱貞提出邀請。在我看來，賽會這張外卡，很可能就決定在泰國小將、張凱貞、彭帥和伊達公子之間，微乎其微的二線選擇才會流到森田、張帥或者是印尼本土選手。我個人是比較好奇張凱貞拒絕的原因啦，即使是海碩集團贊助考量，巴里能見度顯然更高；如果有條件交換......，那會回拒也是不難想像了。僅供各位參考。猜錯恕不負責XD。 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 118.168.137.40
