[外電] McCants' rounding into form
http://www.startribune.com/511/story/1055679.html
Everyone told Rashad McCants it would be like this. You'll feel good on some
nights, they said. But your legs will feel like rubber on others. Your knee
might feel fine, but the rest of your body is going to take some time getting
up to speed.
Life after microfracture surgery isn't easy.
"It's been tough, you know?" McCants said Tuesday after the Wolves had
rallied from 14 down in the third quarter for a victory over the hapless --
and Jermaine O'Neal-less -- Pacers.
McCants had the surgery eight months ago. He made his debut this season on
Feb. 1. Since then he's had good nights and bad. He's played a lot of minutes
and very few.
But when he's on, he shows signs of the player the Wolves drafted in the
first round in 2005.
Tuesday, for example, he was part of a young, quick lineup that clicked for
coach Randy Wittman late in the third quarter and throughout the fourth.
McCants, along with rookies Randy Foye and Craig Smith and veteran Marko
Jaric, surrounded Kevin Garnett. As a group they played a tough, active zone
defense that frustrated Indiana.
McCants was a big part of the comeback. He stole the ball and made a
three-pointer at the end of the third quarter that pulled the Wolves within
nine. He had five rebounds and an assist in the fourth, along with two key
free throws at the end.
Still, the fact is he might not be back to 100 percent until he's had another
summer off to rehab.
"I think so," he said. "The time off to be able to strengthen my knee, it
will be good for me. During the season you don't have too much time. I'm able
to play well defensively. But it has taken me quite a while to get my shot
back. But it's all progressing."
Season ticket prices announced
The majority of season ticket prices inside Target Center will remain flat or
go down slightly next year.
The increases come in the highest-demand seats near the Target Center floor
-- the "DNP" tickets next to the team's bench, as well as the other courtside
seats, which went up $50 per game. But some of the other premium seating,
such as many seats behind each basket, stayed the same or went down slightly.
The team is also running an "early bird" special for selected lower-level
seats. It is based around the "Big Ticket" package offered last summer, which
offered ticket packages in some lower-level seats for $21 a game. This year
that area has been expanded. For those willing to commit to a season ticket
by April 18, lower-level packages can be had for $20, $30 or $40.
There are nine price levels outside of the courtside seats, and six of the
nine are either staying the same or going down slightly. Of the three that
are going up, none are going up by more than $10 a seat, and those increases
can be avoided by those renewing their tickets before April 1.
