http://www.twincities.com/walters/ci_5952257 Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, who chatted with Kevin Garnett at Sunday's Lynx game at Target Center, asked if his $20 million star will be back with the team next season: "That's our assumption. He hasn't said anything to me (about a trade) and I haven't said anything to him." A little birdie says interim coach Randy Wittman has agreed in principle to a three-year head coaching deal with the Timberwolves. A contract is expected to be signed soon. The highest draft pick the Wolves have had under Glen Taylor's ownership, which began in 1995, is No. 5. The NBA draft lottery is tonight, and the Wolves, based on their finish this season, are positioned at No. 7. On Monday, Taylor was asked if he's feeling lucky about tonight. He didn't sound as though he's expecting much. "I don't have any good feelings about it," he said. "That hasn't been our history. I just hope by the luck of the draw that we don't back up too far, to ninth or something, with those teams getting ahead of us. And that could happen." It also could happen, although it's unlikely, that a pingpong ball with the Wolves' name on it could pop out of the hopper with the No. 1 or No. 2 overall pick. Taylor's tone improved at the possibility. "That," he said, "would change our franchise. Those are the things that change a franchise. If we were to end up with the two guys who are out there at No. 1 and No. 2, it would be franchise changing. "That's what happened to San Antonio on Tim Duncan. If that were to happen to us, it would be wonderful. But that's strictly a long shot." The top two players projected for the June 28 draft are Ohio State's Greg Oden and Texas' Kevin Durant. "I'd feel mighty happy about that," Taylor said of the possibility. "I'd even settle for No. 2." Taylor wouldn't say who he would prefer if he were to land the No. 1 pick. "If it's good, though, we'll have a story to write," he said. Taylor has had good fortune away from basketball, achieving a net worth estimated at about $2 billion. "Generally, I've had my share of luck," he said of his business ventures. "And maybe this is why I don't have it in basketball - I've used it up in some other parts of my life." Taylor will watch today's lottery on TV. He's working on the assumption, he said, that the Wolves will remain at No. 7. "And the guys (Wolves' front office) feel pretty good about that," he said. "They've given me the names of eight guys who should be (impact) players." Assuming the Wolves remain at No. 7, it's a decent bet their pick will come from among Florida's Joakim Noah, Al Horford or Corey Brewer, Georgetown's Roy Hibbert or Kansas' Julian Wright. -- 誰說KG想走的? 幾天前的新聞了,有一些今天抽籤完只剩參考價值。 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 59.114.197.150
