Timberwolves' Al Jefferson arrested for allegedly driving drunk http://www.twincities.com/ci_14487938?source=most_viewed&nclick_check=1 Timberwolves basketball player Al Jefferson was arrested early today for allegedly driving drunk, hours after his team's loss to Portland at Target Center. Jefferson, 25, was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol just outside of downtown Minneapolis and booked into Hennepin County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree driving while impaired about 2:15 a.m. according to Hennepin County jail records. He was released about an hour later. A State Trooper clocked Jefferson driving his Range Rover 56 mph in a 40 mph zone on Interstate 394 west near Seventh Street, said State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske. Once on I-394, the trooper saw Jefferson make a lane change without signaling and weave to the left and cross the fog line, Roeske said. Jefferson was driving alone and pulled over near Penn Avenue in Minneapolis, Roeske said. The trooper smelled and asked Jefferson to perform roadside field sobriety tests, Roeske said. That led to a preliminary breath test, which Jefferson failed, he said. Roeske said he would not reveal the result of the preliminary breath test because the case is under investigation. Jefferson submitted a blood draw at Hennepin County Medical Center, results of which won't be available for several weeks, Roeske said. Jefferson was released from jail about 3:15 a.m., and a court appearance has been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 23. Roeske said the trooper noted in his report that Jefferson was "very cooperative throughout he process."
