http://tinyurl.com/a86gdf7 The Timberwolves have signed center Chris Johnson and forward Mickael Gelabale for the remainder of the season and released forward Lou Amundson, Wolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said Friday morning, Feb. 8, at the team's shootaround. "Both played very well and deserved to stay," Kahn said of Johnson and Gelabale. "The option was to let one or both of them go, but there's something to be said for continuity. Since they were here and acquitted themselves well, there really was no reason to shift and do something else." Amundson, who had appeared in only 20 of the Wolves' 46 games, was a likely casualty once the Wolves decided to keep Johnson and Gelabale and needed to get back to the 15-player roster limit. Both were signed to two 10-day contracts beginning with the Wolves' Jan. 19 game against Houston. NBA teams are limited to signing players to two 10-day contracts. The Wolves had to sign Johnson and Gelabale for the rest of the season to keep them on the roster.
