Utah Almost Traded Boozer

The Jazz almost traded forward Carlos Boozer last season when it was learned
that his son had been diagnosed with life-threatening sickle cell anemia.
Boozer privately requested to be dealt somewhere closer to where the child
was being treated in Miami, which is an area much more conducive to recovery
than Utah.
Boozer played through the season mostly away from his son, and before a trade
could be worked out, his son full recovered.
"So it got back to business as usual," Jazz owner Larry Miller said, "and
never really got public."
