AMES, Iowa --
ISU guard Charles Boozer was arrested Saturday afternoon on a simple
assault charge. Story County Jail confirmed the arrest. He posted bond
and was released a few hours later. No other details were provided.
ISU spokesman Michael Green said that Coach Fred Hoiberg is on his
way back to Ames from Minneapolis and will address the situation
once he has appropriate time to look into it.
Boozer is one of just six scholarship players returning. As a junior
he averaged 3.5 points in 16 games before undergoing season-ending
knee surgery. He's the younger brother of NBA player Carlos Boozer.
