--附圖一張，Carter NEW YORK (August 17, 2005) – In recognition of Vince Carter’s community outreach efforts and on-going generosity during the Summer of Goodwill, the NBA announced today it will honor the New Jersey Nets forward with the Community Assist Award for July. Carter recently donated $2.5 million to the Volusia County School Systems for the design and construction of a new gymnasium at his alma mater, Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Fla. Also in July, Carter held his annual Vince Carter Summer Jam benefiting his Embassy of Hope Foundation. －卡特捐贈了兩百五十萬美金給Volusia County School System It has been a busy off-season for Carter and his family as he hosted the 8th Annual Vince Carter Summer Jam, which included The Vince Carter Charity Gala and the Vince Carter Charity Golf Classic. Funds raised from this year’s events will benefit the Embassy of Hope Foundation “ Believing in Your Dreams” scholarship, Family Renew Community (Services for domestic violence victims in Daytona Beach, Fla.) and The Salvation Army. Carter’s other big event this summer was a Youth Basketball Academy that he hosted in Daytona Beach, Fla., where campers, ages 8-18 from the U.S., China and Sweden participated in a unique Father’s Day event in which the campers’ dads were invited to participate in a day of fun and games with Carter. －（太長了） “Since my success was not reached without help, one of my goals has always been to help others,” said Carter. “The Embassy of Hope Advisory Board and I try to encourage children and families to believe in their dreams.
