The Liverpool hitman missed the final games of the Premier League season after ankle surgery and Torres has yet to return to form, failing to score thus far in South Africa despite Spain earning a place in their first ever World Cup semi-final. Torres believes that he is getting better as the tournament goes along, but realises that his play must improve if Spain are to overcome Germany in the semi-finals on Wednesday. "It is a difficult tournament for me because my fitness is not the best but I am improving every game,” Torres told ITV Sport. “I am feeling better but I still have to improve - obviously." The Spaniard will contact Reds team-mates Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher for advice on how to play against Germany as both players were involved in England’s 4-1 loss to the Germans in the Round of 16. "Germany have not surprised me. I am a big fan of German football. I know all of their players. "I think the German people weren't expecting them to play as good as they have been playing. "But I was sure they would always be there or thereabouts. They are always in the final or semi-finals. "They are a very good team.
